Rapid investigation of bowel diseases
PreventID CalScreen is a rapid immunochemical test that screens stool samples for calprotectin in just 10 minutes. With a predefined cut-off at 50 μg/g, CalScreen enables the rapid screening of patients with chronic abdominal symptoms, and the differentiation between inflammatory and non-inflammatory bowel conditions. The rapid determination of calprotectin in stools offers an effective way to exclude inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in a clinical setting, without the need for laboratory equipment. Laboratories with low throughput or who regularly use external reference labs to provide calprotectin testing services for samples derived from GP practices and primary care settings can use CalScreen to detect negative samples and reduce costs, enabling them to report results as <50 μg/g.
CalScreen is complemented by SmarTest® Calprotectin Home, a quantitative calprotectin test with smartphone app. It is also calibrated against the well-established faecal Calprotectin ELISA from Immundiagnostik.
