This MAb is specific to the 220 kD human erythroid b-spectrin protein, present in skeletal muscle cell membranes. It can be used to identify erythroid leukaemia, to monitor the integrity of muscle cell plasma membranes, and in various immunochemical reactions, immunoprecipitation, western blotting, as well as immunocytochemistry methodologies. Ghost proteins from human red blood cells are used as immunogens for production of this antibody.
