Quantitative analysis of pancreatic elastase
The IDK Pancreatic Elastase ELISA is a quantitative enzyme immunoassay for the determination of pancreatic elastase in stool samples. This supports the diagnosis of exocrine pancreatic insufficiency in a range of cases including unexplained diarrhoea, gut microbiota, dysbiosis, IBS/IBD, steatorrhoea, flatulence, weight loss, upper abdominal pain and dietary intolerances. It also helps to monitor exocrine pancreatic function in cystic fibrosis, diabetes mellitus and chronic pancreatitis.
Stool sample extraction
Homogenised stools are extracted using the IDK Extract® universal stool extraction buffer provided, which can be used for many other faecal assays. The extraction process is fast, clean and precise using the kit’s Rapid Extraction Tubes (IDK Stool Sample Application System) to prepare dilutions, ready for analysis. Stool extracts are stable at room temperature (15-30 °C), 2-8 °C and -20 °C for 7 days.
