Turbidimetric calprotectin assay
The IDK TurbiCAL is a particle enhanced turbidimetric immunoassay (PETIA) that uses monoclonal antibodies for the determination of human calprotectin (MRP 8/14; S100A8/A9) in stool samples. This assay is intended for the timely differential diagnosis between inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and to monitor intestinal inflammation and disease activity in IBD patients. It helps diagnose bowel inflammation quickly, minimise bowel damage and expedite treatment.
Stool sample extraction
Stool samples can be extracted directly using the IDK® TurbiTUBE®, which allows easy, clean and precise preparation of sample extracts. The tube contains 1.5 ml of IDK stool extraction buffer, creating a constant dilution of 1:100 that is ready for analysis and can be loaded directly onto the analyser. This system enables the determination of three parameters using IDKs Turbidimetric assays (calprotectin, pancreatic elastase and haemoglobin) from one single stool sample extract, saving time and money. Stool extracts are stable for up to 7 days at 2-8 °C.
